Alexander McQueen Resort 2012 Collection.
One of the reasons why I didn’t have a ‘jaw-drop’ reaction to Kate Middleton’s wedding gown was because I watched the wedding on a tv that was hanged close to the ceiling 8 meters away from me at a restaurant, and also because the first thing I saw was the top half which was the lace.
We Indonesians, especially Javanese, have been playing with lace since forever, so when I saw the gown and its lace, plain with no beading, I wasn’t wow-ed, in fact disappointed, knowing since the beginning that it was Sarah Burton’s creation.
Then I got the bottom half of the gown, and dropped my jaw did. It was beautiful.
As for this particular collection, may I just say, mid-calf length skirt have never looked so inviting.
Then there were the coats, the bulky belts… And the dresses! Two words : “My, Lord”. I believe Kate will be wearing them sometime soon. Sorry, is it Cathrine? Duchess of Cambridge?
Anyways,
May God Save McQueen, indeed.
